Cal Poly Humboldt is committed to the arts. Humboldt's extensive Permanent Collection of art is on display throughout the university's buildings and grounds. Humboldt hosts two formal galleries on campus in addition to a student-run gallery space.

The Reese Bullen Gallery is located within the Art Department and the Goudi'ni Gallery is located in the first floor of the Behavioral & Social Science Building. Each gallery is dedicated to providing students with art exhibition and gallery management experience through the Museum & Gallery Practices program.

Check out both galleries on Instagram and the Goudi'ni Gallery on Facebook.

The Campus Galleries are closed for the Summer and will reopen with a new set of exhibitions for the 2022/23 Academic year in September.

Upcoming Exhibits

Reese Bullen Gallery

The Reese Bullen Gallery is named in honor of a founding professor of the Art Department and has been an Humboldt institution since 1970. Located within the Art Building, the gallery houses the University's permanent collection of art and sponsors exhibitions of works by professional artists related to our many areas of instruction. The Reese Bullen Gallery also presents an annual exhibition of student art– Graduating Student Exhibition.

Goudi'ni Native American Arts Gallery

The Goudi'ni Native American Arts Gallery was founded in 2011 with the mission to honor living culture through the presentation of contemporary and traditional Native American art. This respectful learning space builds campus, Tribal and community connections by promoting diverse artistic perspectives. Inspired by the Wiyot word Goudi’ni, translated as “one is way up and one looks back,” we acknowledge the long history of this place by sharing the stories of past, present and future generations.

Student Access Gallery

The Student Access Galleries exists to help Humboldt students learn how real-world galleries function and also display the work of our talented student-artists on campus. We help students volunteers gain hands-on experience with art preparation (such as installation work) and gallery administration, and give student-artists opportunities to exhibit their work. Overall, we give students experience and skills that will help them build successful art and museum/gallery careers.
